Inspired by the coastal banksia trees and flocks of cockatoos that are part of the landscape of Torquay, ‘Bells Beach’ captures a portrait of our playful native bird. While visiting family in this coastal town I was drawn to the formations of the coastal banksia leaves and the flashes of white and yellow from the flocks of cockatoos. Close up details reveal patterns drawn from nature woven amongst feathers and foliage.

This work is created using pen and ink on Arches watercolour paper 300gsm.
